Istanbul Airport Arrivals: How to Meet Your Driver, Step by Step

Your First 45 Minutes in Istanbul

Istanbul Airport (IST) is one of the largest airports in the world, and the walk from the gate to the exit can take a while. Here is what happens after you land — and how we make the last step the easiest one.

Step 1 — Passport Control

Follow the “Arrivals / Passport Control” signs. Check whether your nationality needs an e-Visa before you fly; the official site is evisa.gov.tr. Queues are longest in the early morning and late evening, when many long-haul flights land.

Step 2 — Baggage Claim

Screens show the belt number for your flight. Trolleys are free. If a bag is missing, report it at the airline’s desk in the baggage hall before you exit — you cannot come back in.

Step 3 — SIM Card and Cash

  • SIM / eSIM: mobile operators have desks in the arrivals hall. An eSIM bought before the trip saves time.
  • Cash: you don’t need cash for your transfer with us. For small expenses, ATMs in the city usually give better rates than exchange desks at the airport.

Step 4 — Meeting Your Driver

After customs you walk into the arrivals hall. Your chauffeur is waiting there with a sign showing your meeting code — not your full name, for your privacy. The code is in your booking confirmation.

  • We track your flight, so a delay does not change the pick-up or the price.
  • Can’t see the driver? Send a WhatsApp message to +90 532 567 08 47 and we guide you.
  • The driver helps with your luggage and walks you to the car park, a few minutes away.

Step 5 — The Drive

Typical drive times outside rush hour: about 45–60 minutes to Taksim, 50–70 minutes to Sultanahmet, 75–100 minutes to Sabiha Gökçen. Water and phone chargers are in the car.
